Susan V. Edwards, Esquire
Ms. Edwards received her law degree from Villanova University in 1979. She earned her B.A. in sociology from Beaver College in 1969. Her social work experience prior to law school included drug and alcohol evaluation and counseling and counseling delinquent teenage girls and their families.
She was well suited, by virtue of this background, to begin her mediation practice with an Academy of Family Mediators (AFM) - approved basic family mediation course in 1993. Since then she has continued her mediation education with advanced seminars and conferences on such topics as custody, step-families, court programs, domestic violence and forgiveness.
Ms. Edwards earned Practitioner Member status in the Academy of Family Mediators in 1997. She is now an Advanced Practitioner/Educator Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR). She is a member of the Family, Education, Training and Court sections of ACR. Ms. Edwards is a member of the Family Law sections of the Chester and Philadelphia County and the Pennsylvania Bar Associations (PBA). She is a member of the Mediation Section of the Chester County Bar Association and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the PBA.
Ms. Edwards has conducted mediation seminars for the public and been an ethics/mediation panelist for the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section’s semi-annual conference. She has annually conducted seminars in mediation for the Hahnemann/Allegheny University Family Therapy post-graduate degree programs.
Recently Ms. Edwards was honored to be selected as an attorney-partner for the kick-off year of Pennsylvania’s ProjectPEACE. She has taught conflict resolution techniques and trained peer mediators in elementary schools.
